operating system installation

Overview:


for part of my computer systems course i had to install the operating system windows XP and io will be explaining the process in which i done this.





installation


1. i put the CD into the CD drive and rebooted the computer


2. when instructed i pressed any key to begin the installation


3. press enter to start installation


4. delete the existing partitions



5. create your new partitions



6. then i loaded the new partitions and restarted the computer

7. when the computer was loaded i had to type in information such as company name ect.

8. after i had to change the nationality to english

9. when the computer has registered your information then you go to control panel

10.click on the printer you wish to install

11. begin installing the printer and add infomation such as the ip address

12. when the printer is installed print off a test page to show that it works

practicle 1 computer assemble

Overview

as part of my college course i had to take apart and re-assemble a computer

equipment needed:

anti-static mat
anti-static wrist band
screwdriver
extraction tool

practical session

1. removed the computer case
2. flipped the catch holding in the expansion cards and removed them
3.I removed the ribbon cables from all internal devices
4. remove CD drive case
5. remove the audio cable
6. remove CD drive
7. remove the cage
8. remove the short ribbon cable from the floppy drive
9. remove power cable
10. remove CD rom audio cable
11. remove the RAM
12. remove the heat sinc fan from on top of the procesor
13. using the extraction tool remove the processor
14. remove the small cables from the motherboard
15. remove motherboard.

This is how i took a computer apart after i did this i had to re-assemble the computer and test that it worked which it did all in all it was a successful experience
